As part of JGSPC marketing and technical team objective to introduce our PE and PP resin products, particularly our Evalene HP10441 Pipe-grade, JGSPC participates this year in the 28th PAWD (Philippine Association of Water Districts) National Convention. For a novice such as myself, my first PAWD Convention left in me profound impressions.

Anchored on the theme: “Water Districts’ Best Practices: Fast Tracking the Realization of the Government’s Water Agenda,” the 28th PAWD National Convention was held last 24th to 26th of January of the present year at picturesque Holiday Inn, Clark. Representatives from more than 600 water utilities from all over the country convened to map out the strategies and programs for the realization of government projects that will provide water to waterless communities. The event, appropriately held in “Asia Pacific’s Economic Haven”, gathered not only officials from the Water Districts but traders, innovators, engineers, experts, and manufacturers as well, directly related to pipe / piping systems and the distribution of potable water.

As a resin manufacturer, JGSPC aims to relay to the PAWD presenters and guests alike, the advantages of HDPE pipes to other conventional pipe materials. The JGSPC exhibitors realized two main objectives: (1) Contact-building and (2) Evalene HP10441 promotion. The Convention was one good avenue where our product could be showcased for interested parties to do business with us, and establish new contacts for bigger business opportunities, as well as strengthen and maintain old ones. These accomplishments serve as stepping-stones for future business ventures that will propel our product to be recognized as high-valued and high-quality pipe material for the local water districts.

The PAWD organization, more than being an association of local water districts, has been evolving to cater to the ever-growing need of a voracious society. Not only has it served as disseminator of information and the cultivator of learning in terms of water distribution and local piping systems, it has also encouraged local technological innovations of PAWD Products and Services in the water sector. The Technical Sessions staged on the 2nd day of the Convention presented updates of water district practices that have improved management and operations. Aside from technical aspects and skills training, PAWD also instills and reiterates its advocacy of protecting the environment. An oratorical contest and a painting contest for the youth served as basic example of PAWD’s commitment to the preservation of the environment. Lastly, PAWD’s annual fellowship gala, held on the 1st, renews camaraderie among its different sectors, thus underlining PAWD’s thrust for national unity.

Water, as the universal solvent, and one of man’s fundamental needs, has become a commodity. The efforts of the local water district to maintain and conserve the quality of this commodity have spurned activity in related fields of endeavor. We in JGSPC join PAWD in its dedication to deliver high quality water to every home, develop distribution systems through high-quality pipe-material, sustain interest in the water sector and its concerns at elevated levels, and nourish continuous learning for a sustainable development of local water utilities all over the country.
